Okra

Okra is a part of the mallow family and has edible green seeds.

Okra is packed full of nutrients and is low on calories. 

It is also rich in vitamin K and vitamin C to help with a health immune system.

Yam

Yams are a root vegetable and have a tough brown skin. 

They are best boiled and served alongside meats.

Yams are often used in Caribbean or west African cooking.

Yams are a staple food and help to improve blood and sugar control.

Plantain

Plantains grow in bunches on a tree, they are a fruit that are found mostly in tropical places. They look very much like a green banana but the skin is harder to peel. 

Plantains are an important part of Carabbean and Afican cooking.

They are a rich source of fibre, vitamins A, C and B-6.

Kingfish

Kingfish is generally found in the Ocean and is preferred due to the quality of the fish when freshly cooked. It can be sold as fillets, steaks or whole. They are best prepared fried, baked or grilled. 

Kingfish is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and is packed with protein and vitamin B12.

Pak Choi

Pak Choi is a Chinese cabbage, a leafy vegetable.

Pak Choi contains some fibre but is a good source of vitamin C and K.

Green Banana

Green Banana is a tropical fruit and grows in bunches. It is a health fruit which is packed with fibre  which is especially good for the digestive system and conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome.
